Terms of use

The plain rules for using the app.

The deal

Guitar Efficiency is run by Zach Adkins. The app comes with the paid Skool membership. By signing in you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Your account

  • You need to be 13 or older. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian needs to be fine with you being a member.
  • The account is yours alone. Do not share your sign-in email or codes, and do not let someone else use your account.
  • Keep the email address on your Skool membership up to date, because that is where sign-in codes go.

Membership and billing

Payment, renewal and cancellation all happen on Skool, under Skool's terms. The app checks your membership with Skool. When a membership ends, access to the app ends with it, usually within a day. Your progress stays saved in case you come back.

What you can do here

Use the app for your own practice. Please do not:

  • Copy, record or share the lessons, tabs, book pages, sound samples or Star's replies outside the membership.
  • Try to break into the app, pull data out of it, or run scripts and bots against it.
  • Put anything into the app that is illegal, hateful or that belongs to someone else.

Whose content is whose

The method, the books, the lesson text, the tabs we provide, the guitar images and the sound samples belong to Zach Adkins. You can use them in the app for your own learning.

Tabs, notes and practice logs you write are yours. By saving them in the app you let us store them and show them back to you. If the app lets you publish something to other members, they can see it, so only publish what you are happy to share.

Star, the coach

Star is an automated coach built from the method. It can get things wrong. Use your ears and the book to check anything that matters, and ask in the community when you are unsure. Star is not a replacement for a teacher.

What we promise, and what we do not

We work to keep the app up and correct, and we fix problems when you report them. The app is provided as it is, and we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. How much you improve depends on your practice.

To the extent the law allows, our responsibility to you for anything to do with the app is limited to what you paid for your membership in the three months before the problem.

Ending things

You can leave at any time by cancelling on Skool, and you can ask us to delete your account. We can close an account that breaks these terms or that is being used to harm the app or other members.

The small print

These terms follow the law of the State of Nebraska, United States. If one part turns out not to be enforceable, the rest still stands. When the terms change, the date at the top changes, and we email members about changes that matter.
